Local Energy District Hosts Leadership Energy Crawl
The Dubuque County Energy District’s 3rd Annual Crawl will feature projects in Dubuque County which often are last in the energy transition.
The Dubuque County Energy District (DbqCoED) will host a Leadership Energy Crawl on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 and will run from 8:30 a.m. till 12 p.m. The tour will start with a low-income solar project in downtown Dubuque, touring energy efficiency projects, learning more about power of purchase agreements and wrapping up with a small business panel.
This initiative will focus on featuring projects focusing on those who are often last in the energy transition. Leaders will learn the impact these projects have on individuals involved, how our community can find ways to support these projects and network with other leaders.
Registration for this event is required. Please complete the form online at: https://forms.gle/LYaugYeaFhqrSJBR6 or contact Michaela by emailing michaela@energydistrict.org or by calling 563-599-563.
History of the Energy Crawl
In 2018, your Dubuque County Energy District was formed. Looking to make an impact and involve community leaders, the first Dubuque County Energy District Energy Crawl took place in 2019. In 2019, solar projects, including businesses and farms, were featured. In 2020, a limited in-person Energy Crawl took place. This event was hybrid in nature and featured energy efficiency projects, including projects from our partners at Hawkeye Area Community Action Programming (HACAP).
To continue our goal of reaching community leaders with the impact our energy transition has in Dubuque County, the 2021 Energy Crawl was created to feature projects from various touch points within the Energy District movement. The impact of showing projects which are often last within the energy transition will aid in our initiatives, project focus and advocacy for future programming in partnership with local leaders.
