Join Green Iowa Americorps Team in Dubuque

One of the most sustainable cities (if not the most), in Iowa, is hiring Environmental Stewards! This is the chance to make a positive difference and put environmentally focused and passionate individuals’ boots on the ground. These are 11 month, full-time Environmental Stewardship positions focused on energy and community, based out of Dubuque (other position locations are also available throughout Iowa). The program engages members in direct service, environmental education, volunteer and community engagement, and professional development opportunities in unique ways.

Dubuque is currently one of the best places to be in Iowa to work in, be involved with and learn more about sustainability! Dubuque features many groups/services such as the Dubuque County Energy District, Sustainable Dubuque, Green Dubuque, Green Iowa Sustainable Schools & Energy and Community, the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (DMASWA), and much more! The city of Dubuque also features sustainability/local events such as Green Drinks, the Dubuque Farmers’ Market, the Millwork Night Market, the annual Growing Sustainable Sustainable Communities Conference, etc. Area businesses/organizations such as The Food Store, Convivium, and the Dubuque Rescue Mission include sustainability and keeping local in their unique missions. As a Green Iowa member, individuals can utilize their time volunteering and completing community outreach to fulfill hours. There are plenty of amazing opportunities to get involved in, in Dubuque.

Location:Dubuque, Iowa

Term:September 2019 – August 2020 (11 months)
(Start date is flexible but preferred before Monday, September 23rd)

Available Positions: Logistics Coordinator, Audit Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator & Education Coordinator

Hours: 1700 hour service commitment (37-38 hrs/week- can be split up in ways that work best with schedule) Extremely flexible vacation & sick leave.
